McLaren 620R spy shots

Last week was the scoop; now here's the first look at the actual car

Things move pretty quickly in the world of McLaren; a few days ago nobody outside of Woking (and a handful of customers) knew about the 620R. Just last Friday, the initial details were released and now we have a set of spy pics, giving our first look at the car beyond those renders.

As expected, this is a Sports Series McLaren unlike any that we've seen before. There's a roof scoop as fitted on the MSO 600LT of last year, but also an enormous fixed rear spoiler that looks to be taken directly from the GT4 race car. The same would appear to be true for the heavily ducted bonnet and front end, the flics and ground-scraping splitter present and correct.

Other points of note include the wheels, which seem unfamiliar from any other McLaren (presumably forged for the sake of lightness), as well as what appear to be Senna seats inside. A few seconds of Googling suggests that 'MV' is a McLaren tag for any vehicle project; your guess is as good as ours as to the '1302' part of the name.

Anyway, that's the latest on what looks like being another intriguing McLaren supercar. Given how quickly the 620R endeavour appears to be progressing, hopefully there won't be long to wait to know more. Does it come in orange?
