Just looking for advice/knowledge. My car had its 40,000/4 years service in Jan 24 even though it had only done 11,000 miles. Services are due every 2 years. The dash board has just come up with oil change required within 15 days or 8600 miles. The car has only done 2000 miles since the last service is requiring another oil change correct or likely to happen?
regards

Just realised the 15 days would take it to the 1 year anniversary of the service does seem a bit suspicious

As this is the 4th Porsche that I have had and never had this issue before as they have all been low mileage cars then tend to think that the technician reset service indicator for 1 year. Added to this my wife also has a Macan and does similar mileage to me and it has never happened on that one either. Anyway I have E mailed Porsche customer service/complaints see what they say.

Just for info purposes. I eventually got a reply as below from Porsche customer relations.

The oil will normally heat up and when cooling increases the viscosity of the oil which is good for the engine. Short journeys will prevent this from happening and can result in the oil becoming diluted. All Porsche vehicles have a sensor which monitors the condition of the oil to ensure optimal consistency of the oil is maintained.

So oil change is done and unless my routine and mileage changes then its an oil change every year, which is probably no bad thing just a hit in the pocket.
