Busier than usual?

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that this year was busier than previous years?

There were far more people around after the first couple of hours of the race than I remember there being in '02 and '03.

We left Le Mans at 8pm when the footie started and the roads were empty all the way to Calais. Saw only about a dozen UK plates and we never once sat in traffic which was good.

We left at 6pm, and headed west, and the roads were pretty much empty all the way for us too.
