Macan for dogs

Is the boot space in the macan sufficient for 2 largeish dogs ?
Not so much the overall room, more the sloping angle of the boot lid.Our 2x goldens could lay down in the Macan, but not situp and look out. Binned the Macan idea and went with a Range Rover Sport... great machine for carting dogs and family.
Do you need to transport them at the same time as the rear seats are in use?
99% of the time I only ever need to carry 1 passenger and me and so transport my 2 large dogs in the back of a BMW 1 series with the seat down. In fact the rear seat stays down most of the time. You could do the same with a Macan?

Not really,do the macan rear seats go totally flat ? I am going to look at some cars next week ,but I cant really take the dogs with to test them out ,and its hard visually on some of these cars to imagine if they will fit.I would prefer not to use anything other than the boot because one is very hairy and dirty and makes enough mess of the boot as it is.99% of the time I only ever need to carry 1 passenger and me and so transport my 2 large dogs in the back of a BMW 1 series with the seat down. A6 or 5 Series wagon would be a better bet, perhaps.
Although I bought an old Land Cruiser for dogs, towing, trips to the dump, etc, as I don't like making a mess of a new car, and so far (2 years in) it has been unbeatable.
Already have a dd of an Audi all road a6, this is for my wife to replace her boxster as she will need dog carrying ability as well Although I bought an old Land Cruiser for dogs, towing, trips to the dump, etc, as I don't like making a mess of a new car, and so far (2 years in) it has been unbeatable.

I ended up with an x3 3.0d it is a quick motor and takes my 2 retrievers no problem

well a GSP and golden retriever do fit in the macan without folding the rear seats.
Aside form that I did prefer the cayenne, there is not much size difference to them and the cayenne definitely feels like a more expensive product.Special mention to the sports seats that were int he cayenne, possibly best car seats I have sat in.
