I’m in the US so it might be a local thing, but…

Why is ACC so rare on second hand cars? I’m looking to buy a Cayenne Turbo, around 2021. I’d say most cars don’t seem to have ACC. It appears to be standard on so many cars now and yet Porsche don’t give it as standard and few option it. I’ve seen option monsters with everything from heads up to Carbon brakes with no ACC.

I don’t have it on my current car and thought it might be one reason to justify the upgrade. I do both a commute in heavy traffic and 500 mile journeys in a day. I never use cruise control because it isn’t adaptive.

My wife’s Q3 has it so why don’t cayennes?

I imagined it would be something people would go for especially in the US where long road trips are common. I am surprised that I can purchase a $135k base price car that does not have it as standard. I am seeing cars optioned to over $170k without ACC. It is as if people actively do not want it.

I wondered about chip shortage or lease impact. Audi's did not seem to have a shortage for their cars so I assume its Porsche owners that just do not like it. Also, the impact of lease cars can be seen on the base models because they have very limited options to pay off during the lease. However, the cayenne Turbos can have crazy options checked so the owners were not afraid of the cost and just don't see value in ACC.
