Hi

Trying to fit my newly painted scuttle and it's being a pain. It doesn't sit flat against the window so there is no way for the seal to sit flush either, and it's too far away to just leave it or glue it.

It seems that the angle that the scuttle sits at is dictated by the angle of the wiper spindles, i.e. they are pointing too much towards the front of the car. I have read that someone a while back had adjusted theirs to be more "vertical" but the metal brackets that the spindles are mounted on are made of tough steel and I have had no luck trying to bend them.

Has anyone ever tried this with any luck?

Thanks

so you removed the whole wiper assembly to do this? The problem is that with the wiper assembly in place, the panel wouldn't be close enough to the window to stay seated in the rubber. If I glue it down to the window first as I've been trying to do, once I refit the assembly it will just be too far out of line to meet the glued on rubber.

One side is ok now after a lot of messing around, sits nice and flush without needing any glue but the other side is lifted up a massive amount. So frustrating
