Denbies Sunday Service 13/05

Denbies makes a return to the PH Sunday Service calendar, only with plenty more spaces than before!

We're back for Sunday Service number four, and we're heading to Denbies Wine Estate after a successful first event last year. Let's hope for another fun filled morning in the beautiful Surrey countryside!

On the day there will be space for 500 cars in our designated parking area, but plenty of room for (human) plus ones. This time we won't be based in the main car park, but in a large grassy area before the main car park, hence we have room for many more cars. Those that attended last year's Sunday Service will attest that the scenery is lovely, so make sure to bring your cameras!

Of course if there are any wine aficionados amongst PH community, then this is probably one that is going to spark your interest. Not only will there be many lovely cars, Denbies has wine tours running throughout the day, if you want to find out more - or your passenger wants to try some wine as you're driving... The building itself has an art gallery and farm shop, as well as a restaurant - we have been very kindly offered a 20 per cent discount at the restaurant and 10 per cent discount in the gift shop (you can claim your discount with your PH windscreen badge that will be sent out before the event).

If you wish to book a wine tour in advance, Denbies offers a two-for-one ticket and they typically run at 11am, midday, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm; to book please contact Kelly Walsh (kwalsh@denbiesvineyard.co.uk) and say you're with PistonHeads. To see more about Denbies before you arrive, check them out here.

So, don't miss out and get yourself signed up here!

See you there.

Date: 13th May, 2018
Cost: None, but we like biscuits with our tea...
Time: 0900-1200h
Space: 500 cars

Address: Denbies Wine Estate, London Rd, Dorking RH5 6AA

I'm really looking forward to this. I couldn't make it to the last one but there were loads of really positive comments so as long as the sun is shining, it'll be a great event. If Mark is coming all the way from Cornwall again in his E30 M3 then it must have been good!

Has the JLR SS been cancelled then and this is the replacement?
Postponed rather than cancelled as they weren't able to make the date work in the end. It'll hopefully be later in the year.

Only 336 signups so far? I would normally expect it to be oversubscribed this close to Sunday??? Is there another event clashing or something?
It's a fairly new venue to us and it's non motoring, so given that we've over doubled the 150 from November, it's not bad going. The manufacturer/circuit events tend to fill very quickly, but it's nice to diversify a bit too.

Very much still going ahead though and can't wait for it after the feedback from last time. Key thing to note is that we'll be parked on grass this time, to the right immediately before the main car park we were in last year. But it will be sign posted, so hopefully no one will miss it!

Jack should be sending out the email later this morning thumbup

Damn, I'm working from home today and therefore no printer... I hope email on phone will suffice on the day?
Yep, you'll just have Jack and I to contend with on Sunday so we'll let you in with the pass on your phone!

Think I'll head over as just down the road from me. Bright yellow Exige so should be fairly easy to spot...
Seeing this on Sunday will make me very happy! This is quite possibly the best list of cars I've ever seen for a Sunday Service, can't wait.

Potentially a bit of drizzle up until 09:00 but looks clear after that!

Possibly a record set there for longest lurker ever?! Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!

For those complaining about the field – unfortunately it was our only option on the day as the SS clashed with a craft fair and in theory we shouldn't have used any of the main car park at all. Hopefully in future we can organise a date where we can use a section of the main car park too for the ultra low cars, but it was our first time using this area and overall I think it worked well. No worse that driving through a field at Goodwood really.

Thanks to everyone who came out, was a cracking turn out and great to see such an eclectic mix of cars. We're in the process of firming up plans for the Classic & Sports Car Show next month, which is looking like it's shaping up to be a brilliant event. Hopefully see a few of you there thumbup
