I put the deposit down last year and submitted the order and config this week, has anyone else done it?

Config ID - DC23850D

Been watching a few of the videos and half wishing I’d gone white, although I know will be a bugger to keep clean.. have chosen red...

Egham said they were expecting 7 cars this year, assuming no delays.

Nice, I'm not sure white does it justice. The red ive seen looks much better. What colour interior?
It launched here in Dubai a few days ago.

I really like it

I’m a bit nervous about buying without seeing one in the flesh but I know I’ll regret it later if I don’t take the risk.

I’ve gone for black leather with red stitching.

Q4EZ Interior Pelle - Nero/Rosso stitching

Fly over to Dubai and see it, every other bugger is here!
Its on display at The Lodge for a couple of days.
I think you made the right decision by taking the plunge. Restricted supply means your money is pretty safe and I think it's going to be a great steer.

Had Egham trying to sell one but the same person said in the same conversation they were getting 6 which were all gone and were getting 8 and two were available and knew almost nothing about the car (as much as I like Maserati's some salespeople don't help themselves).

Regardless, I'd love to go for it and it does look very nice indeed, but I really do like to see a physical example of a car before committing to it. I am, however, hopeful that this is the starter of better times ahead and more models of this ilk - but we've all been there before!

What is the approximate cost of a decent spec car?
And expected delivery dates?

I wish I was in Dubai, usually get over a couple of times a year but stuck with the crappy UK weather just now.

I saw the supercar blondie video from Dubai, looked good - the car that is!

I’ve spec’d mine at £256k which is probably too high however I’m sure others have done more.

The options definitely add up.

37k for visual carbon? Thar does seem a little excessive - you did not go for a base spec car then smile

Sounds an epic car and what a spec, congratulations on taking the plunge

Over £700 for stitching the brand logo into the headrests though?

My wife isn't allowed to work until restrictions are lifted, and she's a whizz with a sewing machine

So, introductory offer - £100 the pair - any other MC20 buyers want to take up the offer? smile

I watched the JJW video on this and it felt like going back in time when the 12c was first shown to the world - that was nearly 10 years ago, with its carbon chassis, butterfly doors. It looks very pretty on the outside, although not entirely sure on the interior.

Going to be interesting to see how it gets on with the F8 as they seem to be at the same price point.

But well done McLaren - you were well ahead of your time.

£257K for a nicely specced version as above puts it firmly in a similarly well specced F8..Whether or not it's worth it is very much up to the individual. All the exterior Carbon seems to add more to the MC20 than Ferraris which artificially makes it more expensive than it realistically should be.
A Lambo Huracan EVO RWD is only £164K basic with much less need to spend on options ie £180k will get you a nice car. The EVO also has the best engine by a long shot in terms of noise, character and drama. Its currently the best supercar to buy when you take everything into account. All IMO.

I like it.

Being honest, the interior reminds me a bit too much of my Alfa Quadrofoglio. There are definitely shared bits, adding credence to the idea it was originally planned to be the new 8C.
The Maserati Alfieri concept became the Roma, Maserati picked up the 8C/MC20 and Alfa was left with the Guilia GTA.

Tempting though, will look spectacular in real life, and always like something a little less mainstream (if you can call an F8 mainstream!). Still a cool brand, despite best efforts of Ghibli diesel...

Will wait and see reviews

Mmmm... ok, let’s never talk about how much that cost again! Ouch... probably should have spent more time looking at the price list.. oh well...

That stitching isn’t cheap either, it almost makes the carbon look like good value..

All they’ve said is that it should be before the end of the year, assuming no delays..

I had been looking at an F8 but they just didn’t grab me, besides I’ve never had a Maserati and thought it would be worthwhile owning one at least once.

I’ve just sold my McLaren - what a pile of crap that car was - awful reliability, awful dealer service.. great cars when they work but no soul.

You only live once and the car does look absolutely stunning imo - much prefer the looks to all of the recent mid-engined Ferraris - on second thought actually to all recent Ferraris
And I fully agree - owning a Maserati is still on my list, although in my case a GranSport will do very nicely (the last pretty/want one car they made until this one)
Looking forward to pics and driving impressions once you get it
