After searching for a used glove box hinge mechanism , without much luck, I decided to make my own from stainless steel. Still a work in progress but if anyone is interested here's a few pics. Seems to fit better than standard resin moulded tvr one.

One thing as always with the TVR is the fit is not consistent. I tried this design in my dash aperture which was okay. On another car , slightly out. Looks as though the plate would need slots machining into it to accomodate misalignment. I wouldnt mind manufacturing these items, but it would be on the pretense that a modicum of fettling would be needed by the owner. Would that be a potential issue ? Let me know..........

Bit of an update fellas......
I have ditched the original lid and replaced it with a new one. The original is resin moulded and seems to be a weak point( it was all cracked and broken into pieces ). I have carefully removed the covering from the old lid. But I coudnt remove the thin foam. This is now on order.
With the demand potentially growing for these, I am in the process of getting quotes for laser cutting the stainless components that make up the hinge mech. It could be the potential that I may supply the hinge along with a new lid. So all you would have to do is fit it to your inner pocket, then to the dash. Along with applying the new foam after adjustment, then the original vinyl or leather to finish? Who would potentially be up for this ? I suppose start a list for just hinge or complete assembly?
In the meantime I will try to get costs together and go from there Cheers.

Right guys. Bit more of an update. The quotes have come back from laser cutters. I would have to order a few sets to make it viable to produce. The cost to buy the complete hinge, tig welded on the jig in 316 stainless would be maybe around £45? Post wouldn't be a lot on top of that, unless its overseas where I would have to get a price?

Let me know what you think on this so If its something we can go ahead on, I can get the laser cutting underway.
Thanks

Right fellas.
Sorry about the delay. The modified parts are now CAD drawn. I've changed them slightly for better adjustment. I will order the laser parts today and eventually get the ball rolling. As soon as the first one is done I will post a pic here, then start to despatch. Cheers

I thought it was more of keep adding if you want if he hasn't got enough will get more made.

In answer to the banana glove box lid. You need to get a new one. I got one of these:

https://tvr-parts.com/tvr-parts/part-details/tvr-b... and transferred the material over from the original. Just need the hinge to finish off now.

Andy
Yes if you get the lids from TVR PARTS they are about the same cost as I can get them for.......so it may be a bit pointless for me to supply them ?

Right fellas. This is the first one finished. It's not polished all over. It has a brushed finish on the underside of the hinge( the part that may been seen when fitted. The welds have been passivated ( no heat marks). They come complete with A4 new stainless countersunk bolts ,nuts and washers. For those who showed interest through the forum and listed their names on the table. That is the order I will send out the parts as and when I receive payment. If you p.m. me with details I will send you my PayPal email and we will go from there.
Thanks .

Thanks for the returned messages if you have contacted me this way. I will reply shortly with my PayPal email. I have got to sort out the post and packing costs to both UK and Europe. Should be this week. Soon as I know I will let the people who have contacted me the total costs. It may have to be first come first served, but based around who was originally on the list. I will give it aweek or two for those to contact me. Hope that's favourable to everyone?
For those people who do not have PayPal we will have to do bank transfer I guess. Thanks for your patience guys. Chris
