Well should I?

With winter somewhere over the horizon, I’ve been looking at adventure style bikes, cheap ones at that.
The ZXR400 would be tucked up for winter and I would still like something to have fun on.

There was a BMW gs650 local to me but that sold before I even got the chance to make a phone call. A second option is the Aprilia Pegaso 650 (carb model) there are some good looking/well priced bikes local to me.
The bike would be used for light touring (UK based) and the odd chance of taking a few green lane short cuts, now I appreciate the bike isn’t going to be fast but I think it would do both the above well enough to keep me happy.
My 100 mile tank range on the ZXR gets a bit annoying when out for the weekend, 200+ mile on the Aprilia would be much more suited.

Has anyone owned one & can offer advice on what to look out for or maybe even offer suitable alternatives?

I’m still under the new A2 license so can’t be buying big stonking 1200cc engine bikes….just yet.
