SR3 RS - model year differences

I'm looking to buy a SR3RS and there seems to be a wide range of prices and they don't seem to follow much logic (beyond the engine refresh issue), so can anyone summarise the important things I should be looking for?

For example, is there any real difference between a 2011 v 2013 car? Same chassis? Same electronics?

I have seen some mention of a "high roll hoop" v "low roll hoop" - what is the significance?

Any other reason why I should consider the year of the car a factor, and not just looking at the overall condition (I've seen some newer cars that have had a hard life, but they still seem disproportionately more expensive than an older car that sat around doing little all its life)?

Brakes - lots of the cars I see talk about upgraded brakes. How essential are these and what are the costs involved if the car didn't have upgraded brakes?
