Hi Guys,

I have been given a voucher for this experience-day at Crail Raceway for my birthday as a present.

I have tried many times to call up and book this now. The first few times I had been told that there were issues with their online booking system, which would be available as of March 1st. I attempted to book via their website on the 1st to no avail, I then called back and was told it would be available from the Wednesday of the first week in March. Again, I attempted to book, and again nothing.

I then called back yet again, only to receive an answering machine message. I left a message quoting my gift number and code, and requesting a booking for April 19th, and to have a confirmation call returned to me.

That was now over 2 weeks ago. I have called back, once again, today - which went something like this:

ES: "Hello"
Me: "Hello? Is that Exhilarate Scotland?"
--- line goes dead ---

I then called back a further 3 times today, each time to receive the answering machine again - this time the answering machine lets me know that its Mailbox is at capacity, and politely hangs up.

So, I have to say that so far my experience with the company has been poor. Which makes me wonder, if booking it is such a farce, what is the day itself going to be like (if it actually comes to fruition)?

I have now started doing a bit of reading online, and have been finding some very mixed reviews, which is starting to worry me a little. Though these reviews do seem to be a little dated - and I would like to think that a company can learn from past mistakes.

Has anyone had any experience with the company this year?

How did you book it? If via Groupon go back to them and explain the situation. I had to do this recently and found their customer service to be excellent.

Well, it was a birthday gift, so I may have to get my parents to call up and get it worked out.

But yes - I think it was Groupon or similar. I may leave it another week or so, and then take my concerns further.

Quite frastrating really.

Ah, thanks for that.
I wish people would just be honest with these kind of things.
At least answer your phone and say that a refund is now available from Groupon etc

Bunch of jokers, they tried to rip me and my wife off last year, after a bit of detective work I managed to get his address and went round to the house and demanded my money back which I got back. This was after they threatened to call the police on me for harassment.

Fortunately I'd also found out about there tame policeman they had as part of the business who owned a couple of the cars that they rented out, the Aston and Porsche I seem to remember, he was doing quite well for a regular policeman owning those motors!!

I got one of these for my ten year old sons birthday and he is really excited about it. My wife phoned and booked it with no problems for April. It will be a real shame for my son if they mess us about.

What had you booked for a 10 year old?
Shame if he is to be disappointed - is he a mini PHer?

Is this the same lot that did supercar 'tours'?

IIRC they have (had?) a Focus RS, A Ferrari (360/430), a DB9 etc..

Well... good end to the story I guess, from my perspective:

My lovely mother has called up and, after voicing her concerns, has had her money refunded.

I genuinley hope anyone that has booked with ES for this year have a great time, and that my concerns have been completely un-just. I'd be interested to hear of the experiences though.

His mum booked it through itison. But I can't help thinking he will disappointed as he gets taken to school in a 911 turbo.

Likewise - identical to the one I've often seen blatting around locally. Last time I saw it was in Glen Dochart some time before Christmas. I believe that at least the Aston they used belongs to the local police occifer (Lochearnhead area) but I have no idea what his relationship to ES was or is. Having spoken with a local who knew the principals, I gather that the original operator has left the area and that ES was going to be taken over by someone else based locally, but that the deal/operations have not gone smoothly.
