The Project 8's Expert Team | Time for Tea?

What goes into making the fastest saloon on the Nurburgring? Time to hear from the people who did it...

While the racing driver behind the wheel and the car itself typically attract all the plaudits when a record is broken, there are so many more people involved in the endeavour that don't get the attention. Now, a few months after the Project 8 XE surpassed its own best lap on the Nordschleife, Jaguar is shining the light on those people that made it possible.

With input from design, chassis and management bods, the Project 8 'Expert Team of Engineers' video covers the variety of people it takes to make a Jaguar XE lap as fast as a 911 GT3. Understandably given the scale of the task, they've plenty to talk about, from the excitement around getting the project off the ground to just how little is shared with the regular XE.

And, of course, given the focus of this video is the 7:18 lap, the Expert Team of Engineers video features plenty of the XE going very fast (in slow motion) around the Nordschleife. Which always looks good. Driving duties have been assigned to Belgian Vincent Radermecker, who British motorsport fans might know from his time in the BTCC; could it be that there might be a couple of seconds improvement in there? That should make for another great watch, particularly with the EV four-doors catching the Jaguar up...

Aren't most of these?

At least, as the article makes clear - this is to shine a light on those we normally don't see, let alone hear from.

Excellent effort on both that front and the achievement itself
