Hi people,

Men and motors show need a Viper and its owner for some tele work.

Idea is to put the Viper up with the TVR in a program designed to have a panel select there favourite car.

There will be a 'Track Day' at Bruntingthorpe for filming on the 10th Feb ONLY YOU DRIVE THE CAR and the TV show at the 'Classic Car' club in Shoreditch on the 15th Feb

Any takers or any questions then let me know.

Thought i was still doing it,but just hear from Neil that im not?Seems that the TV Company have blown me out without telling me(mind you they never replyed to my calls yesterday and after chatting with them today they said they would call me back later to confirm details)Very Pi##ed off as i had cancelled some of my work for that day, even more pi##ed off that they sorted out something behind my back and didn,t even have the decency to tell me they didn,t want our car.Hope they don,t mess you around to much Graham, hope you enjoy your day.

I'm confused? PL told me that Venom500 could not make it due to car mods being done? Yes, it is confirmed that I will be doing it, although they did not mention anyone else at the time.

They are pitting the Viper against a Noble GTR which in my opinion is a mismatch, but heh, I'm no TV producer. Apparently the Tuscan S owner could not make the dates.

Sorry to tread on your toes Tom, if you have made commitments, I am happy to stand down?

seems the TV company have changed tack without telling Tom at all and giving grief at the same time, which is pretty shabby to say the least

Best of luck Graham them Noble's do shift and handle like over sized Elise's !, I'm off to see if Joust in the Noble forum knows anything. I would have thought a 4.5 cerbera would have been more interesting comprassion, keep us updated.

What can I say guys bunch of sh*ts.

Guy calls me yesterday and says thanks but venom can't make the dates can I think of anyone else who is local has a GTS and is a car nut.

Apologies to Venom but with the date so close I did not really have time for names in a hat etc only wanted to put up the best representative for the club.

Viper larry, make sure you screw them for the times and a copy on DVD or video, they have proven in the past to be very keen until the program made.

Good luck Graham. Why did they mess Venom around? Worried the Noble wouldn`t stand a chance? Who knows?
Give it some and some more. Cane the fu*ker!

How come it is going to be the Noble GTR and not the basic Noble VS a basic Viper?
That is not fair. The Noble GTR should really be taking on a Viper ACR!

Anyway there isn`t much that can take on a Viper.

Should be a good laugh.

Nice pic Graham.

Got a call from the production company yesterday evening to tell me that I was being pitched against a Viper, instead of the Tuscan S that was the original foe. Shame really, because it's soooo easy to argue why the Noble is better than a Tuscan, but I know sod-all about Vipers . Anyone care to expand on their good/bad points?!!

With regards to it being a Noble 'GTR', it's actually a 'GTO-3R'. The differences between the '3R' and standard 'GTO-3' are comfort related, not power/handling related. Engine and suspension are identical. The 3R gets stuff like CD player, Air Con, leather, etc as standard. These all add weight, so in theory it should make it a fraction slower (they add around 20Kg to the overall weight). In practice it makes such a small difference it's more down to driver than anything else.

Was told that they will be shooting footage for 3 episodes on Tuesday. So there will also be a Jag E-Type, Merc C-Class, Ford Granada(?) and something else at Brunters as well.

Graham - did they ask you whether Russ Swift could dirve your car? What did you tell them?

Goodlife - I wouldn't let any driver they supply drive the car! Still think this is more about the car than just performance/handling, but we'll see.

Of course, if you would like to drive it around Brunters, you're more than welcome - if you reciprocate that is

Expect you are right about it not just being about performance/handling.

A swap would be interesting. I'm sure our cars execute similar performance in very different ways.

Viper - Ain't no substitute for cubes
Noble - Tuned twin-turbo in lightweight body

To drive, I expect at different speed/gear combinations both cars come into their own and will obliterate the other. Nice to test the theory

Nice pic Larry - the run up to Raidillon from Eau Rouge if I'm not mistaken. Pouhon's probably my favourite corner at Spa, how about you, huh?

Si.

Viper paul,

The way the topic reads is that you need a Viper for your TV set!! (perhaps to keep it occupied in the lonely nights?).

Anyway, hope you blow the Noble out of the water, viper_larry.

Don't think there's much water at Bruntingthorpe .

The Noble will storm it (pun intended). Anyone seen this list recently:
www.syclone.freeserve.co.uk/rivals_cars.htm
Noble is 9th, Viper not even in the top 20
