One of the key attractions of the GranTurismo is that it's a genuine four-seat coupe, or convertible if you prefer the GranCabrio. Many owners report driving with four adults on board over long distances with no aches or groans. The boot in the coupe can cope with 260 litres of luggage, so you will have to pack carefully to manage luggage for four.
Leather standard for 4.2; 4.7 got some Alcantara
The original Stradale does away with the rear seats altogether and has a simple platform that can be used for extra luggage space. In 2013, Maserati reintroduced the rear seats to the MC Stradale to answer requests from customers to make it more practical.
Leather upholstery is standard on the 4.2, while the S gained Poltrona Frau leather with Alcantara inserts. The Stradale has a mix of leather and Alcantara on the seats and uses the latter fabric on sections of the dash and centre console too. Carbon packs were available to swap the trim on the door cards, switch panels, steering wheel and gear shift paddles.
The sat-nav on earlier cars is not great and only allows the first part of a postcode to be entered. However, the optional Bose stereo is a worthwhile extra to look for.
PHer's view:
"Both the Maserati GranTurismo and GranTurismo Stradale models have certainly lost none of the splendour and magnificence of the brand. From its hand-stitched leather interior and elegant dash, you truly feel like you've stepped into a super sports car."
