Peugeot 306 GTI-6: Pic of the Week

While there was an always an expectation of popularity, we hadn't predicted that the 306 GTI-6 video would be quite as well received as it was. At the time of writing the Nurburgring onboard has 109 comments, and 23 ratings averaging 9.26. We should feature one every week...

Anyway, to mark the overwhelmingly positive reaction to a fast Peugeot on the PH homepage, it only seemed right to dedicate this Pic of the Week slot to the 306. Particularly so, as here's another shot of a GTI-6 with all four wheels off the ground - and who wouldn't want to see more of those?

By now, of course, there's nothing really left to say about the quick 306s, the GTIs and Rallyes finally beginning to reach a level of appreciation among the wider enthusiast community that had previously been reserved only for the 205. This picture is a nice reminder, too, of just how well the 306 has aged (particularly the pre-facelift cars like this one), especially when it's remembered that the base car was launched more than a quarter of a century ago.

So, yeah, there we are: we like Peugeot 306s, you as readers clearly like Peugeot 306s, so here's a picture of a Peugeot 306 for your desktop wallpaper. Simple really. Perhaps the 106 GTI can feature here on PeugeotHeads next week...

I really wanted a 306 GTI-6 back in the day. But they were £17k back then. Far too much a month for my meagre salary at the time. Not a problem todays youth have with PCP !!!

Instead though I had to opt for the cheaper (£12k) 106 GTI. Which as it transpires, is still the most fun car I've ever owned. God I miss that car.

    Love that picture.

Even now i think the alloys are just perfect, they could come out in todays diamond cut climate and would fit in nicely.

I suspect people liked the video as it's a car within reach of most, or has been owned by quite a few people on here. To me it's far more interesting than any 6 figure hypercar.
And the driving style is fantastic.
Beats any ASMR video hands down.

Admittedly I'm biased in this instance, but I'm far more interested in cars like this than the latest Ferrari, McLaren, etc.

I have a GTI-6 as my only car and I honestly can't see myself ever getting rid of it.
