Litchfield LM20: PH Videoblog
Is 675hp just the right amount for a GT-R?
Litchfield has been practicing its modifying craft for a while now, its experience with the current R35 GT-R stretching back nearly a decade. Yes, that's really how long imported GT-Rs have been in the UK. Its latest creation is the LM20, a car revealed at the Autosport show and driven on these pages very recently.
Now here's the vid! As you may have gathered previously, the LM20 represents the culmination of all Litchfield's tuning experience with these cars and therefore gets a host of trick parts: the Bilstein Damptronic dampers are completely overhauled, there are Alcon brakes, and the car uses Michelin Cup 2 tyres with HRE wheels - don't forget the carbon parts too, which have proven aero benefits.
Even before the power, it sounds like a GT-R that's worth the premium and delivers further on the car's considerable promise. Is it good enough to justify £100K? Over to Dan!

Would really love to get back into GT-R ownership but family commitments are preventing it at the moment.
Latte sipping wkers can stay in the slow lane in their overpriced porkers, while the GTR disappears into the distance. Godzilla, come to decimate all.

Should you wish to challenge my reply, I would prefer pistols at dawn. That would settle our differences.

But I do like that LM20, wouldn't mind having one myself...but then I'd have to sell my manual 997 Turbo, which I am very attached to, and primarily not because of speed (it has 570hp, 550lbft)...and besides, if I were to switch I'd go for 997.2 GT3, the extreme hp is really rather useless on public roads. But I'm partial to GT4 as well, probably the most sensible sportscar Porsche or anyone makes (rather made, unfortunately).

Still drive pork.
Got sick of spilling my latte's in the GT-R...
They are both excellent cars with each car being better at slightly different things. You can't argue with the bang for buck that you get with a GT-R, that has always been it's forte, giant slaying pace at a fraction of the price. However in some people's eyes it will never match the prestige of a Porsche but it's not just about the badge either, a 911 is a deeply honed and polished product. As a petrolhead I'd be happy with either tbh, not sure why there is always this animosity when it comes to these two cars.

Dan himself mentions how over the last decade the GTR has become more refined and fit for purpose, now imagine over the millions of years since the Beetle (*Beetle comment seems in keeping with the cliche that is this thread discussion*) first appeared how much it has been grown and developed with little improvements here and there, making it the amazing car it is today.
Still, that being said, I'd still take the GTR, Porsche's leave me cold.

I think that's something quite strange. Jumped-up social climbers who think they're defined by what they drive? Who could be so shallow?
I think "animosity" is a bit strong though. Performance competitors, perhaps. What made me laugh though, was when Porsche tried to back-to-back the cars with their test drivers, and were unable to match the times, to which Nissan offered to help them. A bit of a back-hander to someone who was previously on a pedestal. Queue the whiners and tin-foil hat wearers moaning about tyre specs.
